Our goal at the Yellow Spot clinic is to help your child or adolescent with their urinary incontinence whether it be daytime wee accidents, wee accidents when laughing (“giggle incontinence”) or bedwetting (nocturnal enuresis).

In conjunction with our colleagues from The Physiotherapy Clinic, The Yellow Spot Clinic provides multi-disciplinary children’s and adolescent’s urinary continence treatment in a friendly environment.

We have a specially trained Continence General Practitioner who provides all initial assessment and management. Therefore a referral from your GP is not required and all services are eligible for a Medicare rebate. All consultations are discussed with our Specialist Paediatric Urologist and if further intervention is required then our Continence GP arranges your child’s referral to our Specialist Urologist.

Daytime wee accidents

There are many reasons why children and adolescents wet their pants during the day. At the Yellow Spot Clinic we have a systemic approach to assessing the individual problem to ensure appropriate diagnosis which then allows a stepwise approach to treatment.

Bed wetting or nocturnal enuresis is often due to deep sleep, more urine being made at night than the bladder can hold onto and nocturnal urinary urgency. There is often a genetic predisposition meaning another family member (eg sibling, parent, cousin etc) has had a similar problem. Psychological factors can also contribute.

Yellow Spot Coronavirus procedures

To comply with social distancing requirements, all consults will now be conducted by Telehealth.

We cannot guarantee that these services will attract a Medicare rebate currently.

If you choose to cancel or postpone your appointment, please notify us with a minimum of 72 hours notice to avoid a cancellation fee. Appointments cancelled within 72 hours will be charged a $50 cancellation fee as per the practice policy.
